Tablecloths are a great way to dress up your folding table, whether you’re using it for puzzles, tailgating, game nights, or crafts. The length of the drop, or the amount the tablecloth hangs over the edge, can vary based on formality and personal preference. Common drop lengths are 8, 10, 12, or 30 inches.
- 8 inches: Most common for catering or food industry events, as it allows the tablecloth to brush the seat without being cumbersome.
- 30 inches: Used for formal events like weddings, where the tablecloth slightly pools at the floor.
Selecting the Appropriate Tablecloth:
- Measure the Table: Determine the length and width of your table.
- Add the Desired Drop: Add the desired drop length to each side.
For example, for an 8-foot x 30-inch banquet table with an 8-inch drop; the table measurements are 96"L x 30"W. Add an additional 8" per side, or 16" to the total length and width. This would make the tablecloth measurements 112" L x 46" W.
For round tables, double the drop and add it to the table's diameter; a 48-inch table with an 8-inch drop would need a 64-inch tablecloth.
