Tablecloths are a great way to dress up your puzzle-loving-tailgating-game night hosting-craft table, otherwise known as a Cosco folding table. The proper length of the drop, or the amount the tablecloth hangs over the edge can vary based on formality and personal preference, but is usually 8, 10, 12, or 30 inches. Eight inches is the most common for catering or other food industry events, as this allows the tablecloth to brush the seat without being cumbersome to the sitter. Thirty inches would slightly pool at the floor and is used for formal events such as weddings; standard tables are about 28 inches tall.
To select the appropriate tablecloth: measure the table and add the desired drop to each side. For an 8-foot x 30-inch banquet table with an 8-inch drop, for example, the measurements are 96"L x 30"W. An additional 8" per side, or 16" to the total length and width, which would make the measurements for the tablecloth 112"L x 46"W.
For round tables, double the drop and add it to the table's diameter; a 48-inch table with an 8-inch drop would need a 64-inch tablecloth.
